The Empowerment Factory is happy to be hosting our 5th Annual Healthy Living Community Event! Join us in Payne Park Sunday September 19th 12pm-3pm for an afternoon full of music, arts and crafts, competitions, prizes, storytelling, and unveiling art installations!
The first 50 children who register will get a goodie bag!
Everyone who registers will be entered to win our grand prize!
This year, our grand prize is a ChromeBook courtesy of COX Communications.
Other prizes available to win include a new bike courtesy of the RI Association for Justice, toys courtesy of Jules Hope Chest and Henry Bear’s Park, and a variety of gift cards.
Register to enter the Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Competition next to the Elizabeth Baldwin Elementary School. Up to 10 children can participate in this competition, so be sure to sign up early.
Join guided walks along the Baldwin Loop Walking Path. Learn about the history of the Woodlawn neighborhood and our organization and stop at activity stations along the way to win prizes.
Guided walks will leave from Payne Park at approximately 12pm, 12:30pm, and 1pm.
- Visit the Wishing Tree art installation. Built using donated recycled bottle caps and “wishes” collected at last year’s community event, this installation was truly made by and for the community. You could even see your own wish there!
- Check out the Peace Cranes art installations in the Hope Artiste Village. This mesmerizing canopy of origami peace cranes was handmade by and for our community. Learn how to make your own peace cranes at this stop on the walk with the help of our friends from the United Way of RI.
Drop in for Art in the Park activities including Fairy House Building, Jewelry Making, and Kindness Rocks.
Listen in on story time and get a free book courtesy of Books Are Wings.
Enter the knockout basketball tournament 12:15pm-1:15pm.
